Large Specialty Practice Needed a New Website and to Improve Its Digital Footprint

CHALLENGE: Urology Austin had an old HTML website that needed to be updated to a modern platform with responsive sizing for easy viewing on all devices. The practice also needed to build a new, separate website for its primary ancillary practice, The Austin Center for Radiation Oncology, with a separate but similar brand and identity.

STRATEGY IMPLEMENTED:  Three proposals were considered and ultimately a single vendor was selected to rebuild the Urology Austin website, and to create the newly formed Austin Center for Radiation Oncology website using WordPress that could easily be updated in-house to enable UA to easily add blogs, photos and fresh, dynamic content for optimal organic search engine optimization. In addition, a brand new video library was created for Urology Austin to add educational value for patients and improve SEO.

RESULT: Urology Austin and The Austin Center for Radiation Oncology got state of the art websites built using technology that was easily modified in-house without having to rely (and pay) a vendor every time information needed to be added or changed, offering dynamic content that raises a website’s rankings on Google searches. The UA video library and monthly blogs also offered patients a way to get a sense of which urologist they resonated with when deciding which provider they wanted to see within the practice, and to give them an idea of the experience they should expect when visiting a UA or ACFRO office.

CONCLUSION: Fresh and dynamic content that is easily updated without having to call the web developer is a major convenience and money saver for a practice. The goal of creating organic search engine optimization is a win/win for patient education and increasing your website’s rankings on Google.
